Hi ladies! I'm Sara from
Glitter and Grace and I'm here to help babysit Anna's blog while she's in fabulous Palm Desert! (one of my favorite places on earth - actually trying to think up ways as to how I get out there to say hi to her!)
Anyways, there are a few "fashion guidelines" I try to loosely live by and one of them is "There is Never an Excuse to Not Look Cute and Put Together." Before you freak out, let me explain. 1. Of course I don't always follow this. Trust me, many a day I go to the store literally praying I don't run into someone I know because of how long it's been since I've showered. And 2., I don't mean like, full makeup, high heels, and super trendy outfit cute (though I do really admire the girls who are able to pull that off). I just mean you don't have to forsake fun and flattering outfits just because you don't want to get all dolled up.
As someone who doesn't go into an office everyday, most of my outfits end up gravitating towards the same genre: sporty and comfortable. But that doesn't mean I have an excuse to dress all frumpy and gross! Instead, I lean towards purchases that are practical, cute, and cheap to get me from "power walk mode" to "errand running mode" to even "meet up with friends for lunch or shopping mode" while still feeling somewhat decent and put together.
Here are my go-to's for that: Cute and well-fitting workout pants (I swear by Nike, but would own so much Lululemon if I could afford it), striped tops and hoodies from Forever 21, good running shoes, cute T's, and to complete my look and still keep it low maintenance: tinted moisturizer, mascara, big sunglasses, and hair up! I pulled a few pieces I love, and I hope it gives you some ideas next time you don't feel like "dressing up" but also don't feel like giving up on looking cute too :)
Enjoy and I'd love for you to stop over and say hi to my blog if you get the chance!
xoxo
