Day 6 :: Manic Monday

Monday, January 31, 2011

How does the weekend manage to escape me so fast? I had the best weekend hanging out with friends, doing fun photo shoots, going to skate world (felt like I was 12 years olds again), and THOUGHT I slept enough but Monday's telling me different. But even though the weekend is over I still have my flowers from friday sitting in a mason jar on my desk that'll hopefully stay fresh all week. Happy Monday :)

Photo shoot :: 4 & 5

This weekend really got in the way of my 30 items 30 days. Saturday I did a photo shoot all day with my friend Kelly Pace, and sunday I didn't get out of my pajamas once. However if it's any consolation all the clothes that I provided for the photo shoot came from my 30 items! I will post pictures as soon as Kelly's done editing and for now I'll post photos from my last shoot by Katy Weaver. Katy is absolutely amazing and I know I posted pictures before but she just edited some more over MLK and I thought I'd share with you all. But stay tuned cause 30 for 30 is still in gear people !

The sun'll come out tomorrow

Sunday, January 30, 2011

Or atleast it feels like it will! Eugene has been so sunny and nice the past few days and it has me dreaming of the spring! Also JCew came out with their spring line and oooh baby I cannot wait to bust out my sun dresses, shorts, and spring tops.

it's still friday to me ...

Day 3 :: Sleepy gal

(shirt: gap, Jacket: Hurley,Jeans: BDG, scarf: Old Navy, watch:nixon/gift, boots:target)

Technically this is day 3 even though its past midnight! The last 48 hours have been crazy! I have had quite the week with school and other commitments and just haven't slept a wink! Last night at 10:30 some friends and I decided to take a road trip to the beach for a few hours, crazy I know, but it was well worth it. Today I went with some of my greatest friends to a house banquet and roller skating. I learned that I am not a skater, really really not a skater....

Just a little peak into how I'v been feeling lately ...

Day 2 :: Still Awkward

So I'm still getting use to this, especially when I have sleepy eyes! But here's my day 2 outfit! I chose some items for my 30::30 that I don't wear very often and I should. The T-shirt I'm wearing is one of them, I really like it but I never seem to gravitate to it when it's in the closet, guess that means this challenge is serving it's purpose! Also the purple scarf I'm wearing was made by my lovely friend Hannah who made a DYI on her blog about them! If you want to make an infinity scarf check out how to here!

(sweater: Nordstrom, Tshirt: forever21, jeans: BDG urban outfitters, scarf: hannah, bracelet: Africa, flats:target *disclaimer* I traded my other flats for these black ones goes with more and can take my 30::30 farther!I promise I'm not cheating already.)

RE store in Seattle

Wednesday, January 26, 2011

When I was in Seattle a few weeks ago my friends and I explored this really neat store called RE store. RE store is a place where their mission is to "Encouraging value to be created from waste". Basically it's a funky little warehouse with all sorts of fun old items waiting to be restored and made into something creative! I was like a kid in a candy store. I was searching for some old window panes to paint/sand and put in my room at home. I took some pictures of RE store and the windows I found.

day 1 :: yikes

I have to agree with Molly, having your picture taken every day is going to get awkward. The first time was painful but hopefully i'll get use to it! I also would agree that having less to choose from cuts in half the time you need to get ready, which is good for me being a last minute roll out of bed kind of girl. For the first day I kept it simple but I am hoping that with my limited options I can get more creative and use my accessories to add a little more to my outfits.

She is clothed with strength and dignity;

Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;

30 items 30 days

Monday, January 24, 2011

Inspired by bloggers such as Kendi Everyday and The Daybook
My friend Molly, seeking to appreciate her clothes and wardrobe decided to join
this challenge and asked me to do it along with her !

Molly's challenge . . .
30 items for 30 days !
that means , 30 clothes items
excludes accessories - hats , belts , scarfs , jewelry AND workout clothes }
can only be worn for 30 days .

if you're in . . .
1. blog about this commitment /
if you're not a blogger , write about your commitment through facebook .
2. mention Molly's  blog in your post .
3. follow her blog AND mine :)
4. comment on molly's / comment through facebook so she knows you're in for the challenge / giveaway
because . . .
at the end of the thirty days , if you stand true to your commitment ,Molly's giving away a  " be mine " necklace that she made !(It must be mine)  the winner will be chosen at random

3 pairs of jeans(skinny, boot, black) and 1 pairs of high-wasted black slacks

 3 boots 3 shoes
4 sweaters

 12 tops (including button downs, tops, cardigans, etc.)
4 randoms (vest, 2 dresses, 1 military jacket)

I am so excited to be doing this. The only real challenge I see is to not be awkward when taking these pictures every day! Since I don't have a super talented husband like these lucky ladies to take my picture I am recruiting best friend and new blogger, Hannah, to be my husband for the next 30 days and take awkwardly awesome pictures of my progress!

and yes my mom probably reads my blog more than anyone else. #1 fan baby.

Lately I have had such an appreciation for my Mama. So much of who I am and who I am becoming is because of her. I admire how she and my dad raised both me and my sister and I am still unpacking the affects of it in my life now. It is because of her that I am confident in myself, secure in who I am, and feel like I can accomplish anything I set my heart on. I love her because she is a strong woman and because I now know how I want to raise my children some day. Moms are important people, they are so inspiring to me, and I cannot wait until I am one someday.

My apologies

Wednesday, January 12, 2011

My apologies for being behind on my blogging.. I am suffering from a broken heart after monday's game. Also I think I am becoming a bit sick, all I want to do is cozy up and sleep.
But here are a few things on my agenda:
1. Going back to Seattle this weekend with some of my best friends
2. Applying for summer internships (does anyone have any contacts in the Nashville area and wanna send them my way ;)?)
3. Try my hardest to memorize the names in my japanese book
4.Watching a LOT of friends.
I hope you all enjoy your long weekend ahead of you. Does anyone else have any fun plans?
