I recently bought seasons 5 and 6 of sex and the city and I've been watching them non-stop. Sex And The City 2 comes out wednesday night at midnight! I never thought I would like this show but I watched every episode of every season last year in the dorms when I had the flu, it was amazing. I'm not sure if it's the city, the fashion, or the relationships but I've been a fan ever since. I secretly feel like Carrie when I'm blogging away at my desk, looking out the window. Sometimes I wish I was looking onto the streets of New York instead of 15th street Eugene.Then when the movie came out I fell more in love. It is definitely in my top 5 favorite movies. There was over 300 costumes changes in the film and every outfit was better than the last. I cannot wait to see what STC2 has in store for me wednesday night!

Feelin' The Love

I have had so many wonderful friends who have generously supported me in determination to get to Africa. Although I am still no where near finished it has truly been a blessing to see who wants to support me and who has been praying for me as this whole thing comes together. I couldn't ask for better people in my life.

So I just got caught in a hail storm. Then it turned to torrential down pour. I am soaked from my head to my toes. I would give anything in the world right now to take a nice long hot bath. But instead I have to settle for watching parenthood on the top bunch of my bunk bed. ( I am 20 years old mind you)

My new TOMS

One of the artists help sketch the elephants on my shoes. I got to pick the elephants off the internet and then BAM there they were on my shoes! I can't wait to meet them in real life.I love them so much. Perfect for Africa and perfect for me.

Style Your Sole Party

Tonight was our Style Your Sole party for TOMS! It was so amazing. We had a great turn out and everyones looked awesome. We had 4 artists come and help do designs on the shoes, but some girls didn't even need it! It was an all around great success for our first party. I think next years party is already a GO !

Dream wedding

So like any other girls I often think about what I want my wedding to look like. I always pictured my wedding outside in a field or near a barn. I want my wedding to be like a BBQ cookout with fireworks and lemonade and and and I could go on forever. 100 layer cake just posted this couples country inspired wedding and I really loved it. I especially love the picture of the bride and groom playing horse shoes and the picture of the bridesmaids with their cowboy boots. Although it's not everything I would want but it's pretty darn close!

Sophisticated style

I love this sophisticated style. When I saw it on frugal fashionista I thought to myself I wish I had this outfit, but I actually do! I like how they breakdown the outfit so you can see all parts that go into it and I realized I own every part of this ensemble! Now I can wear it with out having to buy anything, such a great feeling! I need this more often. I need someone to look at my wardrobe and put outfits together for me.

Want a mini garden to tend to. Grow tomatoes or something. Scratch that I want a garden of Sunflowers. Lots and lots of sunflowers. :)

I like to sing.

I'm in gospel choir at the UofO. I've always liked the sing and sang all throughout high school but didn't think I could here but guess what, I can. I love gospel choir because it's relaxed, we don't read music, and we just basically get to praise God. It's weird to me that a lot of the people in gospel choir aren't christian but whatever works I guess! I love all the songs we sing because not only does it make you wanna start clapping your hands and move your booty but they all have such meaning. I thought I would share one of my favorite songs.

Just found out

The winter months (May to September) in Zimbabwe are the best for viewing game ! The brush is thinner in those months and the animals tend to congregate near water holes. I cannot wait to see these animals in real life! These pictures below (I can't remember the photographers name at the time) were shown to me by my friend Katie and I loved them. They are real photos and it just shows these animals in there natural state. I cannot wait to be there and see them.

Non-profits such as these really tug on my heart strings because I have such a passion and love for the people of Africa (hence why I'm going in July). Check out someof 31bits' vision:

In the midst of this suffering, there are women who are finding creative ways to provide for themselves and their families through their art of jewelry. These crafts, though easily made, are very difficult to sell because there are few available markets for such items. Despite the fear of ongoing war and the struggle to provide basic necessities, there is immense hope for change. 31 Bits is centered around using the creative art and entrepreneurship already present in the women. Our goal is to help get them out of poverty, provide consistent schooling for their children, and proper nutrition and healthcare for the entire family. We do this by creating an international market and a voice for the beautiful jewelry the women are already making. All of our products are bought directly from the women, are fair trade, are made from recycled paper, and are sold in boutiques across the United States. We envision that in two years we will expand 31 Bits to partner with local Non Government Organizations to initiate and fund community based projects directed by the needs and desires of the community.

New TOMS

TOMS are coming out with a new summer shoe! I'm interested to see what they will actually look like or if I'll want to get them. But I think it is interesting they they are breaking out of their normal designs, being a bit innovative, and trying something new.

Facing my fears

Lately I've had to face some of my fears. First off I hate flying. My anxiety goes off the charts, I get sick to my stomach, and I always think the littlest bump or dip in the air means we're goin' down. Ironically, I love to travel. Ahh, if only I didn't have to fly to my destinations, I would take a train to Africa if I could! The last trip I went on was the Palm Springs two years ago and I think I got a little better. It did help that I was traveling with my friend Grace who's in the air force, she was annoyed but helped me realized everything was fine. However this summer I will be traveling A TON, and doing some flying by myself which is a first! To start off I will be traveling from PDX to DC to Jo'berg to Zimbabwe. Count it people that's three different flights. Three different LONG flights. Then back to the east coast when I go to NYC to visit Maggie only 3 weeks after! Crap, I'm a lucky girl but I need to really learn to calm myself for all this flying, really face my fears, and if all else fails I need Ambien! Also to travel to Africa I need vaccinations. Lucky for me, the girl who has passed out EVERY SINGLE TIME I have gotten a shot. I've also passed out when my mom's gotten blood drawn, when I worked the blood drive, and pretty much every other time I've been to the doctor. It's really an issue. I'm not really sure why it happens but it does and thinking about getting these shots makes me even feel a little faint now. But I'm 20 years old, damnit, I need to grow up buck up and just do it! Lastly, and on a much smaller level, I'm afraid of horses. I love them.I think they are absolutely beautiful creatures but they scare the daylights out of me. I think it's because they can sense fear, my fear, and because they are so gosh darn big. I had to take pictures with horses a while back and it definitely showed in my pictures how scared I was! In the photo shoot I did last weekend with Madelynn she had me up close and personal with lots of different horses. But I faced my fears and by the end of it I was holding their tales and giving them kisses on their nose!

Fashion is a religion, this is the bible

I have seen some amazing movies this year. Blind side, Invictus, Book of Eli, ect. However my favorites so far this year have been independent films/ documentaries that I have seen at the Fox Tower with my Mom. First is The September Issue which is a documentary about the september issue of Vogue and the life of Anna Wintour editor of the magazine. This was fabulous. The fashion, the photo shoots, the work behind it, it is all incredible and I loved every second of it.

Next was Coco Before Chanel. This is a movie about the of Coco Chanel and how she came to be the most well known designers in fashion history. I saw the Chanel exhibit when it was in New York and I have always been fascinated with her designs but I knew little about who she was. This film is in french with english subtitles but it is still easy to follow. I think the reason why I was so intrigued by this movie was that Coco was a tough, tom-boy, wild at heart women, who was feisty and ambitious. She turned her rough demeanor into something so beautiful. I highly recommend this movie to anyone who loves fashion or wants to know more about Chanel.
